(by Sharon Stewart)

Event Date:
October 2004

Event Location:  Stowe, Vermont

Stowe is a premier four season resort destination particularly reknowned for its alpine and Nordic recreation, mountain biking, hiking and world class spas. The community comes alive with festivals, shopping and dining opportunities with activities for everyone in all seasons. Stowe has made the most out of its natural setting– Mount Mansfield, the forests and fields, clear mountain streams and fine air to carve out an appealing, enduring, distinctively New England style of life. What makes it truly special is that Stowe is also a place people call home…

We had a wonderful family reunion here at Stowe Vermont . . .a lot of my sisters, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, my daughters and my mom all gathered here to enjoy each other’s company!  We arrived late at night, so we didn’t really get to see the colors until the morning . . . wow, what breath-taking beauty this place has to offer!  We all laughed the entire time we were there, because we were trying to come up with other descriptions of the beauty of the colors of the trees other than unbelievable and gorgeous!

We had such a great time together laughing, eating, sight seeing, going to a pottery shop, shopping, and spending a wonderful time together!  I’m ready to go back again!

One of the stores that we went into had really great finds in the front of the store.  Towards the back of the store came the sound of a piano being played.  We all walked to the back, and couldn’t believe what we found . . . An older man playing the ‘Tennessee Waltz’!  Billy went over to him and told him who he was, and that his dad & Pee Wee King wrote that song many years ago!  We all got a good laugh out of that one!!
